Whether you are a Type 1 Diabetic patient where your immune system is attacking and destroying the insulin-producing beta cells in your pancreas or a Type 2 Diabetic patient where your condition is largely diet-related and develops over time- you need to be aware of your Diabetes Management.

Even though diabetes is considered one of the most common diseases in this modern era with a global estimate of over 9% of the population, each individual requires intensive special care and treatment.

According to the American Diabetes Association, “This is a condition that can be managed. By living a healthy lifestyle filled with exercise and proper diet, you can live a normal life and do everything you set out to do.”

How and why does my Glucose level reach this high?

The process of digestion includes breaking down the complex food substance into simpler and absorbable forms of the different nutrients. When you eat starchy foods like carbohydrates (for example, bread, rice, pasta), your body breaks this down into sugar (glucose). When glucose is in your bloodstream, it needs help – a “key” – to get into its final destination where it’s used, which is inside your body’s cells (cells make up your body’s tissues and organs). This help or “key” is insulin.

Insulin is a hormone made by your pancreas, an organ located behind your stomach. Your pancreas releases insulin into your bloodstream. Insulin acts as the “key” that unlocks the cell wall “door,” which allows glucose to enter your body’s cells. Glucose provides the “fuel” or energy tissues and organs need to properly function.

If you have diabetes:

Your pancreas doesn’t make any insulin or enough insulin.

Or

Your pancreas makes insulin but your body’s cells don’t respond to it and can’t use it as they normally should.

If glucose can’t get into your body’s cells, it stays in your bloodstream and your blood glucose level rises. To increase the insulin sensitivity and balancing the blood sugar levels Omkara Hills is among the Top Ayurvedic product brand in India which provides Ayurvedic herbal products and the best health supplements to improve the diabetic health.

What are the different types of Diabetes?

Type 1 Diabetes

Also known as juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes, Type 1 diabetes is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin. Different factors, including genetics and some viruses, may contribute to type 1 diabetes.

Although type 1 diabetes usually appears during childhood or adolescence, it can develop in adults. Despite active research, type 1 diabetes has no cure. Treatment focuses on managing blood sugar levels with insulin, diet and lifestyle to prevent complications.

Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition, in which there is too much sugar circulating in the bloodstream, which can eventually lead to disorders of the circulatory, nervous and immune systems.

In type 2 diabetes, either the pancreas does not produce enough insulin — a hormone that regulates the movement of sugar into your cells — or the cells fail to respond accurately to insulin and take in less sugar as a result the sugar circulates in the bloodstream.

Type 2 diabetes used to be known as adult-onset diabetes, but both type 1 and type 2 diabetes can begin during childhood and adulthood. Type 2 is more common in older adults, but the increase in the number of children with obesity has led to more cases of type 2 diabetes in younger people.

There’s no cure for type 2 diabetes, but losing weight, eating well and exercising can help you manage the disease. If diet and exercise aren’t enough to manage your blood sugar, you may also need diabetes medications or insulin therapy.

Gestational Diabetes

Gestational diabetes is diabetes diagnosed for the first time during pregnancy (gestation). Like other types of diabetes, gestational diabetes affects how your cells use sugar (glucose). Gestational diabetes causes high blood sugar that can affect your pregnancy and your baby’s health.

In women with gestational diabetes, blood sugar usually returns to normal soon after delivery. But if you’ve had gestational diabetes, you have a higher risk of getting type 2 diabetes. You’ll need to be tested for changes in blood sugar more often.

Prediabetes

Prediabetes means you have a higher than normal blood sugar level. It’s not high enough to be considered type 2 diabetes yet, but without lifestyle changes, adults and children with prediabetes are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes.

If you have prediabetes, the long-term damage of diabetes — especially to your heart, blood vessels and kidneys — may already be starting. There’s good news, however. Progression from pre diabetes to type 2 diabetes isn’t inevitable.

Eating healthy foods, making physical activity part of your daily routine and staying at a healthy weight can help bring your blood sugar level back to normal. The same lifestyle changes that can help prevent type 2 diabetes in adults might also help bring children’s blood sugar levels back to normal.

Thus, to help you manage your blood sugar levels Omkara Hills brings to you our best herbal products and  Ayurvedic products. Healthy eating forms the backbone of our lifestyle and if we can add natural health supplement products to it made with anti-diabetic herbs, it makes your meal even more balanced.
